This course delivers a 1-hr long yoga class like no other! It includes the video, audio, and written content that you need to “take” the class as if you were present in our studio.
Our style of yoga combines traditional and non-conventional poses that are designed to create strength and mobility in a short period of time.
Some times props are used to further enhance the benefits of the practice.
Q. Who should practice Power Yin?
A. Power Yin yoga is great for every one. From intense athletes to people that have to sit all day long. No matter what you do in your daily life, spinning, running, plyometrics, sitting, standing, it’s all good but it still applies repetitive impact on your joints.
Q. What does Power Yin Do?
A. Power Yin yoga stretches and rehydrates that joint tissue so it won’t become stuck and stiff. As a result, no matter what your favorite sport or activity, Power Yin will only make it better for you and easier on you.
Q. I am not flexible enough, can I still do it?
A. Flexibility is highly and wrongly overrated. What all of us need is mobility, the ability to move with strength and control through our full range of motion, no matter how limited that might be. If you can get on and off the floor comfortably and by yourself, you can do this class.
Q. Is Power Yin all I need?
A. Remember that athletes retire due to joint issues, not muscle issues. Having said that, Power Yin is not the only kind of yoga or fitness you want to be practicing, but it is highly important that you make it part of your weekly routine.
Q. What type of previous yoga experience do I need?
A. None. The class is taught in such a way that you do not need any previous experience.
Q. How much time is this going to take?
A. The video class is 1-hr long but you can do as much of it as you want, in the comfort of your own space, and on your own schedule.
Q. What type of gear do I need?
A. A yoga mat and clothes you can comfortably move in. If you do not have a yoga mat, you can get one here… Our most favorite is the Manduka… Yoga blocks are optional. If you have yoga blocks, that’s great, if you don’t you can get a pair here… Our favorite one’s are the Manduka… Our favorite one’s are the Manduka…
Q. How will I know if I am doing this right?
A. As long as you follow these simple tips, you are great!
- During the practice, keep breathing in and out through your nose. Do not hold your breath!
- After a Power Yin class, don’t do any intense activity, such as crossfit, sprinting, etc. Your joints are just too tender. Ideally, perform any such activity prior to taking the Power Yin.
- As a rule of thumb, any discomfort on your muscles is a good thing; any discomfort on your joints, may not be a good thing. Modify accordingly.
- Do not do anything a medical doctor has told you not to do.
